We are excited to share details about our ongoing Youth-Peace Weavers project, launched in partnership with ActionAid Ethiopia. This initiative empowers young Ethiopians to build a more peaceful and inclusive society by addressing key challenges like conflict, digital threats, and social divisions.
Project Overview
Centered in Addis Ababa with engagement from select regional areas, the project runs from August 20, 2025, to December 20, 2025. It focuses on equipping youth—particularly women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and economically disadvantaged groups—with skills in peacebuilding, digital safety, and advocacy. By integrating art, community dialogues, and safe online spaces, we aim to foster resilience and align with Ethiopia’s National Dialogue Commission and the Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agenda.
Key Goal
To strengthen 231 young people (55% women, 5% PWDs, 20% economically disadvantaged) as leaders in peace efforts, promoting social cohesion and rights through inclusive training and digital tools.
Main Outcomes
- Building advanced peacebuilding and advocacy skills among youth and organizations for sustainable movements.
- Enhancing digital literacy for young women and vulnerable groups to combat online threats like technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV).
- Facilitating inclusive community dialogues to encourage diversity and intergenerational exchange.
- Advancing the YPS National Action Plan through youth-led policy advocacy and awareness campaigns reaching thousands.
Through this collaboration with ActionAid Ethiopia, we’re creating lasting impact by supporting local communities and national peace goals.
