Jimma Hate Speech Mitigation Workshop, Jimma, Oromia Region

A Hate speech mitigation workshop in Jimma, Oromia region, as part of the #defyhatenow Ethiopia project, aimed to empower individuals to combat hate speech by raising awareness of its prevalence and providing strategies for identification and mitigation. The workshop focused on Afaan Oromo and its use on social media, exploring practical ways to curb the spread of hate speech, promoting harmony, and preventing violence in Jimma and beyond. We have fostered a digital environment that respects diversity and advocates for peace across Ethiopia’s diverse societal landscape.
