Program Overview

In today’s digital age, women face unique opportunities and challenges online—from combating misinformation to building professional networks. The Women’s Digital Safe Spaces Program addresses these by providing a supportive, women-only environment to learn critical digital literacy, safety, and empowerment skills. Supported by ActionAid Ethiopia’s SPA II program, this initiative aligns with our mission to foster peace, justice, and resilience through youth and women-led efforts. With expert-led sessions and a focus on practical, hands-on learning, participants will gain tools to protect themselves, amplify their voices, and lead in their communities.

Who Can Apply?

This program is open to women across Ethiopia who are eager to develop their digital skills and create safer, more impactful online experiences. We welcome applicants from all regions—Addis Ababa, Amhara, Oromia, Tigray, and beyond—ensuring a truly nationwide reach. To maximize access, we prioritize women who have not participated in similar digital literacy or empowerment programs, as our selection committee aims to empower new learners. Applicants should have a basic interest in digital tools and access to a device (e.g., smartphone, laptop) and internet, though we’ll work to accommodate those with connectivity challenges.
